                                    At the Environmental Protection Agency I worked in the Office of Environmental Enforcement. I participated in carrying out drinking water treatment plant audits and enforcing legislation. I developed communication skills as well using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Citrix GIS tool to create reports that have been used within the EPA. I learnt how to follow instructions to work independently as well as working in a team to help solve problems. I participated in team meetings and researched different subjects for the team. Time management skills were also improved throughout the placement, the EPA works on a flexi time basis. Therefore I had the responsibility of managing and maintaining suitable working hours.

 

 

July 07- June 09          SILVER SERVICE WAITRESS

                                    Absolute Hospitality, Liverpool

 

                                    Absolute Hospitality is a recruitment agency where I worked as a part time silver service waitress, bar person and at refreshment kiosks at different events. This involved handling money and using different cash registers. At each event I worked with different people in different stressful situation’s, so it was important that I adapted quickly and worked well in different surrounding’s. I had to listen and respond to instructions as well as use my own initiative. At match days I worked for Everton F.C in the boardroom, private boxes and hospitality suites. This was quite demanding work due to the important cliental and the quality of service expected. Therefore I am used to working in a stressful busy environment. Interacting with the customers was an important part of this job as well as dealing with difficult customers. Teamwork was an important factor when working here due to the large numbers that were catered for

 

 

June 08 - Sept 08        CALL ADVISER

                                    HCL BPO Services (NI) Ltd, Armagh

 

                                    I worked as a call advisor for British Telecom, selling call packages and broadband. I developed my communications skills and sales techniques through dialogue with customers on the telephone.  Speaking on the phone while using different computer software improved my I.T and multitasking skills. I had to work towards individual sales targets as well as team sales targets, therefore team work was essential. Throughout this job I had to listen to customer complaints and solve them.

INTERESTS

 

The main interest I have is the environment; I am particularly concerned with conservation and environmental pollution, especially in the atmosphere and water systems. I also have a passion for exercise and keeping fit, I like to walk, go to the gym or swim three to four times a week. I’m a keen supporter of Liverpool F.C and Armagh GFC. I also enjoy socializing, mainly going to out to pubs, concerts, nightclubs and spending time with my friends and family.
