As a graduate from the University of Manchester, BSc with Honours, I am very dedicated and focused on goals I set out to achieve. Currently, I am looking into undertaking a masters to gain some specialist skills involving monitoring and modelling the environment electronically. I am exceedingly interested in this area of Geography and am aiming to pursue a career within this field. I am highly independent, self-confident and work well with different people. I am extremely ambitious and always strive to reach my full potential.
I was involved in a project called “Getting our heads together” where I was trained to use recording equipment and interviewed people with mental illnesses. Our interviews will be stored in the National Sound Archive for future research purposes and my name was also published in a book which illustrates our finidings. I participated in meetings and conducted interviews in my own time. It was a very interesting experience where I learnt a lot about people, how to deal with sensitive issues and how to use specialised equipment. I was also awarded a prize for my efforts in Geography and a certificate in ICT for my enthusiam and commitment to the subject.
Although I don’t have much experience within the professional workplace, I have gained life experience at University and working abroad, excellent customer service skills at previous retail positions and my social interaction is responsive and well-mannered.

Frontier Town Campground – Lifeguard (June 2009 - September 2009)
Description: Lifeguard at a very popular water park in a busy tourist city.
Job involved monitoring people’s safety and rescuing people when needed.
Achievements: Travelled to a foreign country independently
Successfully completed a contract with a company abroad
Completed First Aid training under the Red Cross
Experience built up my character and has made me feel ready for life
after university and in the working world.
Worked in a foreign country with a different culture.
Reason for leaving: Temporary summer position.
Primark – Retail Assistant (November 2008 – June 2009)
Description: Serving customers and handling money
Very busy environment as the store is located in Manchester City Centre.
Put stock out onto the shop floor and kept stock tidy and well presented.
Achievements: Coped well under the pressure of large queues and crowded environment.
Always arrived on time, one hour before the store opened to put out stock
Was complemented by customers on my politeness and my manager
congratulated me on my excellent customer service
Reason for leaving: Left to go work abroad
ASDA Supermarket – Retail Assistant (July 2007 – November 2008)
Description: Job entailed the responsibility of handling money and I was trained to deal
with customer enquiries and complaints.
Worked on checkouts and also the kiosk
Achievements: Nominated for the “Golden Star” Award for my high standard of customer
service.
Learnt how to operate a checkout
Gained excellent communication skills.
Coped with difficult situations
Reason for leaving: Wanted to focus on University work
